We are members of the Mills College community who have serious concerns about this acquisition. If you are fired up about calling for an independent investigation, we welcome the help!
If you've read our story online, then you know that we suspect some of the actions taken by the President and Board may be illegal. This includes potentially false claims made to students.
If you are a California attorney who is able to volunteer time to advise students or alumnae/i, please tweet at us when you have time @Squirrel4Truth and we'll ask our legal questions, or email us: legalsupport@investigatemillscollege.com.
Let us know:
1. Your professional background and specialty
2. How many hours you are able to donate (1-4 hours is fine).
(Any pro bono consultations can occur via Zoom.)
You've seen our campaign, if you have experience in PR and advertising and believe that you can help us expand our reach outside of California, please email us: campaignsupport@investigatemillscollege.com. We are specifically looking for women, women of color, and LGBTQ+ HWC graduates who already know why this matters so much to us.

Help us expand our network. We welcome anyone who is interested in obtaining our updates to sign up. We are especially eager to get in touch with our Mills alumnae/i and donors because President Hillman blocked the Alumnae/i Association of Mills College (AAMC) from using the contact database after the acquisition announcement. It was likely an attempt to prevent alumnae from trying to save Mills, or take further action to prevent the acquisition. The Mills College database includes information for an estimated 25,000+ alumnae/i and donors. As an independent 501c3 nonprofit the AAMC developed this database and gave it to the college for mutual use and maintenance about 10 years ago. The AAMC never imagined that a Mills College President would co-opt the database and prevent the AAMC from contacting their own community after giving it to the college in good faith. Although Northeastern has not formally requested access to this alumnae/i database, alumnae/i have been warned that their staff may soon have access to it due to the acquisition process. If you're an attorney who knows about privacy laws please tweet @Squirrel4Truth and tell us about our rights!
